HOW TO SERVE THEM Moscato d'Asti should be served at temperature of about 9°-10° centigrade (49° - 50° F), whereas Asti should be served at slightly cooler temperature: 7°-8° C (45°-46° F). The glasses should be preferably smooth, uncut crystal stemware. Asti has traditrionally been served in a goblet, whereas current trends seem to prefer a flute glass. On the other hand, since Moscato d'Asti is not a sparkling wine it is more appropriately served in stemware of less pronounced shapes, whit less elongated bowls and broader bases. However, it is important that both wines be not only properly served, but also kept under the right conditions which means preferably in cool underground cellars or at leasr in areas where the temperature is costant and quite low. It is also recommended that they not be kept for an excessively long time. |
